Community Centres

Community Centres can help you find a career

Don’t have quick access to the web at home? Why not visit your local Community Centre. They usually have free services to the community, including employment assistant programs. Community Centres usually post local work opportunities in their centre and will help you with your resume and job application. You can even get hold of some tips on interviewing and basic etiquette advice when it comes to following up from an interview.

Community Centres, in association with other Non-for-Profit Agencies are given funding from the Government each year to operate certain types of programs. Employment is usually part of the budget, and this can be appealing to some employers because they may be able to be given a subsidy for the wages they pay to you. It can end up becoming a win-win for both you and your new employer.
