Community Centres

Community Centres can help you find a career

Don’t have easy access to the internet at home? Why not stop by your local Community Centre. They often have free services to the public, including employment assistant programs. Community Centres often post local work opportunities in their centre and can help you with your resume and job application. You may even get some tips on interviewing and basic etiquette advice when it comes to following up from an interview.

Community Centres, in conjunction with other Non-for-Profit Agencies are offered funding from the Government every year to operate certain kinds of programs. Employment is typically part of the funds, and this can be attractive to some employers because they may be able to be given a subsidy for the wages they pay to you. It can end up becoming a win-win for both you and your new employer.
